My stepdaughter is vegetarian and now has an alergy to dairy, any idea if buffets are the way to go?
Any idea which ones would be best?
Dairy free vegetarian at buffets - HELP!!!!
wow, well that%26#39;s a difficult one. i would say that actual meals at restaurants/cafes might be easier to deal with b/c you can talk to the server about the allergies and request certain items to be removed from the meal. whearas at a buffet, you have NO IDEA exactly what is in each item and can%26#39;t make any special requests.
hmmm.. i suppose that being said, there is always the made to order station (not available at all buffets). like in the morning, she could have an omlet, but she%26#39;d have to check with the cook to find out if milk is added to the egg mixture. Most (if not all) buffets have a made to order omlet station. and some buffets offer a made to order pasta station. I can%26#39;t think of a particular buffet with a pasta station off the top of my head (we didn%26#39;t do buffet dinners on our last trip). but i%26#39;m sure there are lots of other ppl here would could advise.

While you could go to buffets, you will find that you will be overpaying for fruit and salad. Las Vegas buffet dining is designed mainly to satisfy people interested in large amounts of red meat, crab legs, and the occasional lobster. You will very rarely be informed of the actual contents of the offerings.
There are, however, some vege/vegan opportunities in the area. Start with this website, selecting ';vegetarian/vegan'; from the ';Cuisine'; popup:
http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/dining.cfm
and
http://vegasclick.com/vegas/vegetarian.html
Virtually all the hotel/casino restaurants have their menus available at the door (and most are available online), so you won%26#39;t have to go into an interesting looking place only to find your SD will have to watch you eat.
Good Luck!
Thank you both so much, this trip is for her 21st birthday and I wouldn%26#39;t want her to get sick!
