Traveling the last weekend in April to Vegas for a bachelor party. Being a part of the wedding party, and a fairly frequent visitor to Vegas, I%26#39;ve been selected as one of two guys to set up this trip. For various reasons, we%26#39;ve narrowed the two potential hotel locations to The Hotel @ Mandalay %26amp; The Venetian. I%26#39;ve stayed @ The Hotel %26amp; the other guy who%26#39;s helping out has stayed @ The Venetian, so we%26#39;r eboth confident that either choice will be a good one. However, I%26#39;d like to know if I can get some other people%26#39;s opinions on which hotel they like and why.
A couple of things we%26#39;re thinking about is that the Hotel has a more modern feel, therefore may attract a younger, hipper, ';funner'; crowd yet the Venetian has a great club, so staying there may potentially help us with VIP for this spot.
Anwyays, your 2 cents may be worth much more than that if you can post what you like/dislike about each place %26amp; how that may affect how much fun 10+ guys (30-35 y.o.) can have on a Bachelor party.
Thanks in advance!!!
Venetian or The Hotel?
I have stayed at both and enjoyed both very much. My fiance has been trying to determine which place he would want to stay at for his bachelor party - we are getting married AT the Venetian - and he%26#39;s actually decided he%26#39;s going to spend a few nights at TheHotel, while I laze about at the Venetian.
So I personally think either one would be great.
I think TheHotel would be a better bachelor party fit for you all - the living room is a separate room, which was the draw for my fiance. He thinks that the atmosphere at Mandalay Bay would be more fitting for a group of loud drunk 30-35 year old men than the Venetian would.
He, however, isn%26#39;t so much thinking about a trip to Tao, so that could change your determination. If you want VIP passes to Tao (even if you aren%26#39;t a hotel guest), which may or may not help you skip part of the line, they have them sometimes at a little booth on the second level, in the walkway into the Grand Canal Shops near the food court, but before you get to the food court, near the Coffee Bean at the top of the escalator that comes up from the casino.
Hope that helps.
Venetian or The Hotel?
yourstar - Thanks for the info on the VIP passes. Sounds like we can%26#39;t go worong with either.
Also, in addition to my initial post, I%26#39;m curious whether The Venentian is similar to the Bellagio? I%26#39;ve stayed at the Bellagio a couple times, so if anyone could tell me if they would compare the Venetian to the Bellagio as far as atmosphere/clentele/pool environment, that would be fantastic... as I%26#39;m sure we%26#39;ll be enjoying the rays for a day at the pool, at least.
At first I thought either would be a good choice, but thinking about it THEhotel would be much better for this group.
THEhotel and Mandalay Bay certainly attracts a younger more active crowd. Especially at the pool. And they might consider renting a cabana at the MB pool and continuing the party there. MB also has a number of fun bars to frequent.
As far as a club, they don%26#39;t have to stay at that hotel to frequent any club. But they should strongly consider bottle service. It may seem very expensive for a couple, but it is very cost effective for a group. And a great way to party.
We are definitely considering getting a cabana and bottle service during our stay - I%26#39;ve just never known if it%26#39;s easier to get bottle service/cabana @ the hotel your staying at (even if you%26#39;re not dropping tons of cash @ the table), or if it%26#39;s just as easy to stay at one hotel and get a bottle or a cabana at another hotel.
And I%26#39;ve head good things about the Venetian/Tao pool as well, though not sure if the cabanas are more fun at The Hotel or not... any info here will be sure to help us out.
TheHotel will def have a much younger and hipper vibe. I also love the casino at the Mandalay Bay. However, the location of the Venetian is far better imo. I much prefer the Venetian because of its location. You can walk everywhere and the rooms are nicer imo.
I agree that the location of THEHotel is a turn-off. It%26#39;s a bachelor party: you want to be stumbling down the Strip from O%26#39;Shea%26#39;s, drunkenly singing college fight songs, not taking the tram to the Luxor while Joe and Mary Smith from Cincinnati sit uncomfortably in the corner of the tram car.
In regards to TAO, you should know that a bunch of guys with no girls, even with hotel guest VIP passes, may have to spend some time in line if it%26#39;s a busy night. I stay at Venetian/Palazzo all the time, and while I%26#39;ve never had to wait all that long, but then again, I%26#39;ve always gone with my girlfriend and others in a mixed group, and it seemed to me that it was the girls, not the hotel guest passes, that got us in.
Ultimately, my vote goes to the Venetian, but I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll go wrong with either! :-)
Thanks for all the comments here. It%26#39;s nice to hear what other people think as my own perception(s) may be slightly skewed about either place due to excessive alocohol intake/lucky table night/etc. As far as TAO, I agree about the line. I figure we won%26#39;t stand in any line, however. We%26#39;ll likely just pay (grease?) to get in wherever we go %26amp; try to get this lined up prior to showing up. Sounds like it doesn%26#39;t matter where we stay as far as the club(s) go for the weekend... However, the pool may be a different story. Has anyone been to the 2 pools - Hotel/Mandalay %26amp; Venetian? The only time I%26#39;ve stayed @ the Hotel was in March and it was too cold for any pool time. Just wondering if the Venetian pool is like the Bellagio - a nice pool, but a bit boring when compared to the Hard Rock...
Anyone been to The Palms pool?
Having done bachelorette parties at both hotels, my vote would be for The Hotel for the following reasons:
1) Pool- Mandalay has about 100 cabanas of various sizes and price ranges vs 25 at Venetian, better pool scene with pools, lazy river, wave pool, and huge outdoor casino complex. The pool area at Venetian is nice but pretty basic, and Tao beach is small and over crowded.
2) Rooms- Rooms at TheHotel are a better bet because the offer more privacy by having 2 seperate rooms plus a second bathroom vs the open floor plan and single bath at Venetian.
Finally, although the location of Venetian is obviously better for clubs, you%26#39;re a group of guys and will be spending the money for VIP regardless of what hotel you stay at unless you know someone (casino host, club promoter/manager, etc).
It seems like your group will have great time wherever you choose to stay, but if I had the choice again between the 2 properties I would go with The Hotel.
Rach,
Perfect response. Great information all around.
Thanks.
