Will be staying at the Mirage for our honeymoon sept 25th til Oct 3rd and have budgeted around $350 a day for gambling (mostly slots and maybe a boit of tables) realistically what comps can we expect based on this? I understand it doesn;t exactly give us high roller status but I am intrigued as to what we could potentially get! Last visit we didn%26#39;t spend have as much as that and as it was our first visit we didn%26#39;t even try and see what we could have gotten (we were at CC the). We will be doing the majority of our gambling at the mirage
Thanks!

Mirage gambling comps
At the tables they won%26#39;t rate you unless you%26#39;re betting at least $25 a hand.On the slots, it depends on how much of that $350 you re-invest. If you get lucky and are able to play for hours, you might get some comps. With a bankroll of $350 a day I wouldn%26#39;t expect much if your luck is ';average.'; Be sure to use your card and go to the players Club desk BEFORE you check out and see if you can at least get ';casino rate'; or some buffets.I would also advise you to introduce yourself at the Players Club desk before you start gambling and let them explain how the program works.
I love Mirage...but it%26#39;s probably over-rated because it has many fans who could easily stay at nicer places....they just fell in love with it years ago and seem comfortable there.
I gambled about 400 a day mylast trip and was comped 2 nights and 100 in food by the end of my stay -- I dont know how it works or what I did.
I was not a big winner at all on that trip -- went home with the budget spent.
players club offers most of its rewards in free play with the availability to earn rooms %26amp; food once you hit a certain tier. if your budget is $350 you should be able to get some free stuff assuming you don%26#39;t hit a total cold streak.
they measure your play at the tables in average $ per hand, and how long you%26#39;re there. if they%26#39;ve upgraded their tables (not sure, i haven%26#39;t played there for about a year) they may be using the new chips that actually count exactly how much you%26#39;re betting as you play. you need to be $10 a hand for several hours per sitting (per day) to get anything free
at the slots, its %26#39;coin-in%26#39; which means if you put $20 in a $1 slot and play 1 credit per pull, you may actually press the $1 button 80 times before you run out of money. that%26#39;s $80 coin-in not $20. the magic number at most casinos is $500 per day coin-in, and $1000 average used to be the level to get on the host radar (again not sure at players club locations any more).
again, as of a year ago, the chain also measured 1 day play as in one location... which means if you did $300 coin-in at mgm, $300 at nyny, and $400 at mirage, it was NOT the same as $1000 coin-in per day. it would give you a $333 average, even though it was one day. this may have changed though.
if you%26#39;re not a huge regular, and are just looking for how to get the most stuff, check out what kind of promos the casinos are offering new players for hitting a specific minimum. for example, wynn last year was offering 2 free buffet tickets for hitting $300 coin-in on your first day as a red-card member, riviera was offering free show %26amp; buffet for $900, and the total rewards (ceasars / harrahs chain) program changes all the time. palace stations are also getting competitive, and they finally have a few hotels worth staying at down the road (red rock %26amp; green valley ranch).
hope that helps!!
A few other thing you may want to do is charge any meals or souvenirs on your room. Just keep track of what you spend so it’s not a shock at the end of the trip. My wife would charge her pool drinks to the room (1st because she didn’t like bringing cash to the pool and 2nd because we usually have them comped). And yes, as Darren has mentioned, ALWAYS use your club card (if you misplace it, don’t put 5 cents in a machine until you get another one), this is just when you will have a 2 hrs run on $20.00!!! On the back is a list of all the hotels you get points at for playing.
I%26#39;m sorry if I seem a little ';dumb minded.'; please explain about charging stuff to the room. how that may help with points or something rather? thank you.
if you get a players card and use it throught out your time in vegas on the machines you play you are being tracked -- at the same time throughout your stay you will be eating at the restaurants in the hotel where you are staying -- then at the end of your stay they will look you up - see what you have played (time in, coin in etc...) they will comp accordingly -- do not expect comps -- go with a set budget and anything you dont pay like a meal at the buffet or a bar tab for you will be gravy.
good luck

nice answer Darren.
kstuder1971,
If you play at a high enough level this stuff may be comped at the end of your trip. Host have some discretion and a lot of this type of stuff is considered ';soft'; comps, meaning that the junk is overpriced or its gonna be there anyway and has minimal value (such as buffets). It does not hurt to see if you can get it comped at the end of your trip. Just be prepared in case you have to pay for it.
Some places give value to purchasing items from their casino. For example, if you spent thousands on shows, gifts, dinners, over priced drinks, etc. that has value to the casino and has some consideration to how they value your patronage.
Good explanation OneLove.
For example, I just stayed at Bally’s and bought souvenirs and a few drinks and dinner at this hotel. I also ate every morning at the Paris Buffet (it’s adjoined to Bally’s) and put all this on my room. At the end of the trip I was comped 1 extra night off my room, and 1 dinner. I’m sure if I played more at Bally’s, they would have done more.
But, whatever you do, don’t gamble for comps!
I understand now. Thank you so much. I definitely don%26#39;t gamble for comps. I really don%26#39;t gamble much so I%26#39;m not so worried about comps. Just so good to know all this just in case though. I got most points at MGM, but not enough for free comps yet. I got a little discount at TI because of that though. Hey, I was thrilled with that. Any little bit helps.
