We want a good meal, but nothing fancy (spaghetti, lasagna, pesto pasta). Any ideas?

Best Casual Italian Restaurant on the Strip?

Search Batistas Hole In The Wall

Its a loid Little Italy type environement.

Good food, cehap prices, free house wine with your meal. Its very casual and reasonable.

Some reviews thinks its too loud / not fancy enough.

For me, we make a stop every trip.

Best Casual Italian Restaurant on the Strip?

Oops I meant Loud not Loid... Typo

Good answer, Vegas4. I just looked over the menu and it looks to be a great little modest italian restaurant. Questions: Does one need a reservation at this place? Can you walk to it from center strip? What is the ambience like(we are 30 and dont want to be out of place)? And how would you rate the food on a scale from 1-10? Thanks.

Definitely consider Casa di Amore over Battistas. It%26#39;s not on the strip but they have a car/limo that will pick you up and take you back. It%26#39;s less than 10 minutes from MGM.

You%26#39;d probably like Maggiano%26#39;s in the Fashion Show Mall.

I am with Stratton on Maggianos at Fashion Show. Good food, great service and priced well.

I recommended Batista%26#39;s Hole in The Wall to my husband who wanted a casual Italian to go to with a business associate after reading about it here on TA. After the dinner, he called me to tell me that he%26#39;d just eaten the worst Italian food he%26#39;d ever had, and thanks for nothing! He said it made Olive Garden seem gourmet. I%26#39;m sure Maggiano%26#39;s is a better bet...

Maggiano%26#39;s would probably be your best bet on the strip.

Battista%26#39;s is a love it or hate it restaurant-and many, many people hate it (including me). At one time it wasn%26#39;t so bad but now it is horrible. The food is bad and the wine even worse. I would avoid it at all costs.

We really liked Dal Toro, downstairs in the Palazzo. You can see their menu on the Palazzo website.

as said its a love or hate. Although I have taken hundreds of people there over the years and always had agreat time and everyone has always loved it. If you want gourmet italian - its not the place. If you want Good Pasta and CLassic Italian dishes, I stand by my reccomendation

What I like about it:

You can be loud, get drunk on cheap wine, fill up on cheap good food. Portions are very generous. It%26#39;s a great place for a group.

I forogot about Maggianos, I have a Maggiano%26#39;s less than 5 miles form home and we go there several times a year. Only reason I wouldnt go there is because I can do so at home. Otherwise their Family Style meals make it an interesting place. For a chain, their food quaility is above chain standard. Stay away from the Steak Tips unless you like fry meat that taste like dog food. LOL

For me Hole in the Wall is like Little Italy in NYC. If I were there for 2-3 days I would skip it. But we are in Vegas for 4-5 nights min when we travel so its a staple stop for us.

No Matter where you choose, I%26#39;d call in a reservation it never hurts to have one.
