The first thing necessary to point out is that all helicopters flights out of the Las Vegas area will go to Grand Canyon West on the Hualapai Indian Reservation, NOT Grand Canyon South Rim, which is the National Park. If you%26#39;re wanting to see the National Park side of the Grand Canyon, you%26#39;ll need to take either a fixed wing airplane flight or motorcoach to Grand Canyon South Rim (or drive yourself), then get a helicopter flight from there. However, helicopter flights from Grand Canyon South Rim are limited to overflying; they will NOT land on the canyon floor. Flights out of Las Vegas to Grand Canyon West, however, CAN land on the bottom of the canyon.

Helicopter tour operators out of Las Vegas include:

Papillon Helicopters, Grand Canyon Helicopters, Maverick Helicopters, Sundance Helicopters and HeliUSA. Tour offerings and pricing may vary slightly, and there are some differences in equipment used. Papillon uses Bell Jet Ranger helicopters; GC Helicopters, Maverick and Sundance use Eco-Star EC130%26#39;s; Sundance and HeliUSA use A-Stars, which are similar in configuration to the Bell, but larger and a bit newer.

Hi Penny, we just got back and we used Heli USA. They were very good. We booked with a company just off the strip (near fatburger, across from the new city centre) who touted us but we think we got a pretty good deal. I have landed in the bottom before and I have also flown through it in a plane but this one took us through the canyon to the working diamond ranch just past the canyon. We landed there and had something to eat (Included in the price) and the cowboys put on a small show for us. We then were taken back along the strip (it was dusk and all the lights were now on) this saved us doing the night flight along the strip as well. To get the strip at dusk you need to look at coming back aroung 5.30ish at the moment. We were picked up from our hotel at 12.45 and we actually took off around 1.45. It was a good trip overall.
