Help picking a hotel

So, I%26#39;m a Vegas Virgin and my husband and I are going 2/16 - 2/19. I live in Indiana and just need a break from work and kids.

Anywho. . . here%26#39;s my dilemma. . . I have no idea where to stay. I currently have a room at Planet Hollywood that I got for $69 a night. But, I can get the Luxor for $47 a night. I%26#39;ve also got the Trump pulled up on Hotwire for $96 a night and what I believe to be the Wynn for $109. Pros/Cons on these places? I can cancel the Planet Hollywood one if need be, but I%26#39;m just not sure. I know we want to stay on the strip and make the most of our short stay. I do enjoy nice rooms but I enjoy an awesome deal even more. lol

Any ideas from those that have been before?

Thanks!

As a first time Vegas visitor, you probably would not want to stay at Trump (no casino, not on strip).

Planet Hollywood is not a bad location. Luxor is cheap, but South on the strip and not as nice as other hotels.

What else are you looking to do during your stay?

If it was me I would take the Trump(no casino and really not on the strip) and Luxor(on the end of the strip) out of the equation.

I would say if PH is $40 less then Wynn I would stay at PH. OK many will say stay at Wynn for the $40, but I am cheap.

PH is nice and is in the middle of all the action. The casino has just been redone and seems to be hopping everytime I go in there.

I will be there the same days as you and while I am not trying to see everything, if I was faced with the same choice PH would win for location of center strip.

Thanks for both of your input! It would appear that I made a good choice (so far).

As to what else we want to do. . . I%26#39;m not sure! Neither one of us has been to Vegas before. I know I want to do some gambling and possibly take in a show or two. And of course there is always shopping to be done. My husband is just really along for the ride.

If anyone has any suggestions as to ';must do%26#39;s'; I would appreciate it.

I would pick Wynn for that rate. You never know how long will these incredible rates last at Wynn so I%26#39;d take that opportunity to stay at that luxurious property, besides $40/night or $120 total would be a ';cheap'; upgrade over PH.

Just walking the strip and going in and out of each hotel/casino could take up your entire stay. You can take the Deuce to the outlet malls. If you catch it on the Bellagio side of the strip and get on just tell them you are going to the outlet mall and they are very very helpful.

Visitlasvegas.com, lasvegasadvisor.com and a2zlasvegas.com are some of my favorite sites for vegas aside from here. I know on our first trip we were only there from Thursday until Sunday and we never left the strip. We had to go back soon after our first trip because we felt that we missed half of everything. Now I am hooked and he is okay with it and will join me at least once every two years.

PH is a good choice based on the information you provided. You will not be disappointed.

I agree with taking Trump and Luxor off the list.

PH for $69 is a good deal, but Wynn for $109 is a deal that you may not see again; the chance to stay in a first-class property for $109 is extraordinary! For me, the room and the property set the tone for your vacation, it%26#39;s more than just a bed in a room....

Aim high for your first time!

Dave

another vote for the wynn for 120 more it is worth it imho and as others say who knows when or if you can get that price again

have a great trip

That is a nice rate for the Wynn!! If it%26#39;s in the budget I%26#39;d go for that!

You may want to check out prices for Flamingo, Paris, Bally%26#39;s, or Harrah%26#39;s for good deals plus center of the strip so it makes it easy to get around on the strip in either direction. Here is the website to check out Hot Deals for the above hotels.

www.harrahs.com on top click on LV then Hotel Hot Deals.

Wynn would be a great choice as well for luxurious, it would be worth the money if you want to pay for luxury %26amp; huge rooms with great amenities, it a beautiful hotel %26amp; a good price for it.
