One or two day car rental on the strip?

We are going to LV for 5 nights and for just one day we want to go to the Grand Canyon and drive Route 66...Are there any car rentals near TI or how do you recommend we handle this. I am not very interested in the group tours because I like the freedom of our own schedule...BUT of course will defer to the experts.

There is a Dollar location at the TI. They are NOT a 24 hour facility so make sure you check the hours of operation. The rates there will probably be higher than at the airport. You%26#39;ll probably need to get the car for two days. My suggestion is to rent it and return it to the airport location the day you leaveLas Vegas so as to save the cab fare.
