TR Jan 11-15, Part 2 of 2

Wednesday morning again up early at 4:30. At first, I could barely walk as my ankles felt like they had seized up from walking so much. After showering and sorting out money for the day, I checked over the 25 item list of things I wanted to do. “Good job John,” you have done one thing on your list, lol. Ok, no gambling until you do at least 3 things on the list. After my Paris Buffet, I sat outside with a coffee watching the morning start up. The sidewalks were wet from just being cleaned and this beautiful gold colour Lamborghini was parked at the entrance to Paris. After some time I was distracted by the sounds of the Bellagio fountains. It was too early for the shows to start, so I think they must have been doing test. This was actually really cool as they were working on the big cercal section at the back and blasting it off over and over. I was disappointed to see the tests end but I’m sure anyone with a hangover wasn’t. Walked down to Encore and what a beautiful morning it was. I walked up the front driveway to the entrance and I first saw 3 stretched black Rolls Royce’s. Hmmmmm…Wynn knows how to impress as the doorman opened the door “good morning sir,” I kind of laughed and thought “I wonder if he knew my name was King John, lol. Encore is similar to Wynn with detailed perfection. Every aspect of the hotel had flow, warmth and themed with butterflies. I would love to stay sometime but so fare this trip Bally’s staff had given me a warm welcome and I’ve been very pleased with my stay. I walked back to Harris to take the Monorail to MGM and cross over to Luxor. For some reason the system would let me program in for a ticket but would not take my money. I was just about to go, when I noticed a Good Samaritan had left a ticket on a monitor 4 down from me. Wow, a free ride. This was perfect as I wasn’t looking forward to walking back out to the strip. There was only an hour left on the card so when I got to MGM, I left it on the Monitor for someone else to use.

Bodies….The Exhibition, at first seemed a little disappointing for me. Probably because I had heard about and seen a few pictures, so the shock factor was gone. Once I was past the first 2 rooms it did become much more interesting. I don’t want to take away from anyone that may want to see it, so I will just say I felt it was worth the money and 2 hours I spent. I would recommend you be in a relaxed mood before you go. Not recommended for someone who just came from the craps tables. It was getting late in the afternoon and I wanted to get showered and change for my last night. Caught the monorail back to Bally’s, got the day pass for $13 since I was heading back to Luxor that night. Got off at the Flamingo so I could stop at Bill’s and get a ticket for Fantasy on my way back to Bally’s. Wow, finally after so many attempts to see Big Elvis I caught the last half of his show. He is good; actually very good. I also got a kick out of watching two seniors dancing like teenagers at his show. Good for you folks, live long and enjoy!

After taking the monorail back to MGM, I noticed as I walked through that they still have that horse race game in MGM’s casino. I could hardly wait to tell DW that her favorite game was still going strong.

Fantasy……it was ok. The girls were good looking and the comedian/dancer was talented (did a hilarious Michael Jackson) and for $27.50 at T4T I was happy. I would recommend this for 21-25 year old males but for me, it didn’t hold a candle to Jubilee.

I made it back from Luxor to Bally’s monorail stop in a half hour. This is amazing when you think last year at this time that would have been an hour or so adventure. Amazing how quick you can get through an empty casino. Left my monorail ticket for the next person as there was a good half day left on it and intended to return the favor from that morning. 12:30….lights out…..2:30 am, I woke up like someone had thrown a cold bucket of water on me. I needed VP and I needed it now!!!!!! Once again I had free range of any machine I wanted. Played $1 for an hour but was slowly burning up my money. It was getting close to 4:30 and I was down but not beaten. I was tired, my eyes were burning, but I wanted one last run. I sat at the quarter VP machines at the top of the stairs from Sullies. The Cocktail waitress seemed like she was waiting for me and had a drink back before I could get the money and card in the machine. The first 6-7 hands were winners, flushes and straights every third hand after. I had just won back all and more from the morning’s session. I sat back and just enjoyed the moment and pondered to continue or take my winning and call it a trip. I opted for the second and went to my room to ready for my last Paris Buffet and pack. After checking out, the temptation for a few more hands got the better of me. My luck continued and seemed to be for the person sitting two down as well. I got 3, four of a kind within a half hour when didn’t the person down from me hit 4 A’s. Nice payout and he was gone. I also wanted 4 A’s in the worst way but it didn’t look good with only a few minutes before I needed to go. Ok, two more hits and I will be at an even 300 credits and I’m gone. 1st hit, nothing but 2 J’s, second hit, nothing at all so I hit deal and getting ready to cash out and BANG ….4A’s WAHOO. King John is gone, lol.

Thanks everyone and hope you enjoyed the TR as much as I did sharing it with you.

Hey King John,

Glad you went out on a high note!! Joe

MrM

Thanks for the TR whatta finish! Good for you, I long for a solo trip and the only Vegas in my near future is a 2 hour lay over to and from Tahoe in 3 weeks, gotta get my gambling and Vegas thrill through these trip reports.

Thanks again.

Loved both parts of your TR. Am taking my first solo trip in March and I can%26#39;t wait! Reading your TR makes me more excited. I love the idea of being up in the middle of the night and just being able to GO! I%26#39;ve had awesome trips with my DH and the ones with my aunts, too, but the solo trip is what I%26#39;m longing for. Thanks again :)

Vegasis4me: like you this was my first solo trip. Not necessarily something I wanted but because of work scheduling. Even when my wife and I go, our interests in Vegas are so different we both go separate ways during the day. She often gets a laugh about me getting up in the middle of the night to gamble and will say when she hears me in the washroom, “are you coming or going”, roll over and go back to sleep. During the day we have breakfast together, she will go to the pool and shopping, and me, god only knows, lol. At night we have a nice dinner and show together, walk to the fountains or stroll the strip. I missed her very much on this trip but enjoyed being on my own.

You have a great time and enjoy the adventure. It really is a different Vegas on your own.

I was hoping you could tell me exactly where the horse races are in MGM. That is my fav, also.

MrM...thanks, once again, for your TR.

Vegas solo...that%26#39;s a great way to go once in a while :)

Enjoyed your TR. I am video poker junky so I am always happy to hear of someone getting the Aces! Great way to leave Vegas!

Insert slots for VP, and thats me, LOL I do ';power naps'; myself in Vegas. You can sleep (crash more like it) when You get home! Gotta make the most of Vegas time!

Excellent and very entertaining TR! Thanks bunches for sharing, had a blast reading it!

Power Naps is exactly what I do, “Carolina Sunny”, and with just a few days, because traveling eats up so much time, you have to go for it. If I wanted to sleep, I would have stayed at home. Glade some of us understand.
