breakfast
cj, what are ';fry-ups';? Is that like where they fry your eggs over easy, sunny side up, etc?
breakfast
MGM is pretty much average, by Las Vegas standards. The coffee shop will seem over-priced and the buffet is very average, and they will cook eggs to order.
The closest nicer buffet would be at Mandalay Bay, and pretty much the same for coffee shop as Raffles is best in that area. These are $1-$2 more than MGM but at the next level.
The best breakfast within walking distance will be at Verandah in the Four Seasons.
fry-ups? According to a google search it%26#39;s a ';meal of fried food';
You%26#39;ll have to enlighten us Americans as to what a %26#39;fry-up%26#39; actually is.
We enjoy going to the Paris buffet for breakfast. A very nice variety of foods and a great omelet station with friendly staff. I think you will find it is much more convenient to go to Paris then the aforementioned Mandalay. I hear the Mandalay buffet is better though and I intend on going there next time I visit Vegas.
Fry-Ups is a English and Irish term of a breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon, and sausage. All restaurants that serve breakfast in the USA have these things as they are staples.
However what we call bacon and sausage here in the USA is very different that what the Brits think of. Bacon here in the USA is smoke cured pork belly fat and fried to a crisp. In Britain bacon is brined pork loin sliced thin and pan fried. I do not know of any places that serve English or Irish bacon. Canadian bacon is about as close as you are going top get to English or Irish bacon
yes a fry up is an english friend breakfast - bacon, fried eggs, sausage, beans, mushrooms, tomatos etc
do buffets do normal pork sausages, the only part of america i%26#39;ve been to before is new york and when i ordered sausage for breakfast there it come flat and looked more like a burger!
i know in new york we ended up in mcd for breakfast in the end most days as there bacon sandwiches or bagels are same bacon we get at home!!
They serve skillet breakfasts at restaurants here in the US...think Denny%26#39;s may have them. They used to also have them in the Victorian Room at Barbary Coast (now Bill%26#39;s).
Skillets are a mixture of eggs, meat (such as bacon or sausage), diced potatoes, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, and sometimes have cheese or sausage gravy over them.
MGM may also have something similar in their restaurants.
I%26#39;d go to the Pyramid Cafe at the Luxor, I really enjoyed the few breakfasts I have had there (the vegetarian skillet is delicious!!). :)
cj - you will find breakfast pork sausages at any buffet. If you like eggs, the MGM buffet has a lot of different egg choices.
