How to score the best deals in rooms...

We are considering a trip to Vegas for the Valentine%26#39;s/President%26#39;s Day weekend. I know there are many ways out there to find the cheapest deals in rooms, any suggestions? We are both military but most hotels I%26#39;ve researched don%26#39;t offer military rates per se. TIA

P.S. Any suggestions for things to do are welcome as well. I%26#39;ve been there before but he hasn%26#39;t and this will be our first trip together. Thanks.

What kind of budget do you have in mind? What kind of hotel do you like? For a cheap room on the strip I%26#39;d go with the Imperial Palace, it%26#39;s center strip and is usually very cheap. I have stayed there twice, both rooms were very clean, but basic. You can sign up for email promotions or check out fatwallet.com for current deals.

The following link will give you a very good idea about the best rate for the hotels you are considering for the time you want to be there.

Thank you, I was hoping to find something on the strip for around $100. Thanks for the suggestions, that%26#39;s exactly what I was looking for.

check out fatwallet.com...

Go to forums...travel deals.

There is a Las Vegas deals thread. Click on the last page (at 101 right now), and work your way backward.

The weekend you are looking at is very busy in Vegas, but there have been some tremendous values out there these days!

RUN to the fat wallet thread...

go to p. 100 and scroll to the second from the top, Ballys. It was posted 1/13 and says that it is a 72 hour sale, but I clicked through and found an AMAZING deal for that expensive weekend! $102 for Fri/Sat/Sun nights---ALTOGETHER! (Luxor is averaging a little over $100/nt, Excalibur about $85, and everyone else decent is running $150+.nt on Saturday, a tad less on Fri/Sun)

This deal is value...central strip, huge rooms w/ great views (this is the unrenovated south tower), for cheap any night, but particularly over a holiday weekend.

GO!

(I clicked through as if I was booking, and it gave me that price)

After you check out the previous sites mentioned by other posters, I would then go directly to the hotel websites and check the rates. If there is a big difference in price, I wouldn%26#39;t hesitate to phone the hotel directly. Give them the price (if lower) and where you found it. In most instances, they will match it. It is always better to book direct if at all possible. When doing so, you can almost always change or cancel your reservations (sometimes if it is a special offer you cannot). Always ask about this prior to booking. Then keep an eye out, as the price of hotel rooms fluctuate on a regular basis. If it should go down after booking, phone and have the rate adjusted accordingly. I wish you luck!

I am not sure if this will help, but here is a link.

Harrah%26#39;s usually run some great Hotel deals on their properties. If you go to their website www.harrahs.com on top click on LV the Hotel Hot Deals to get a great %26amp; reasonable rate, %26amp; like the above poster said if you book directly with hotel %26amp; if the rate drops prior to arrival all you have to do is call them %26amp; they%26#39;ll match the lower rate that you saw.

Have a great trip !!!!!
