advice on rooms at MGM not signature

Are they ok?

Is the location ok?

We are looking to go in August for our honeymoon and have got an offer with flights from Gatwick with Virgin and a deluxe room at MGM for 拢1350 for 7 nights for both of us?

Good deal?

Hi

We stayed in the grand tower rooms and they are fine. Not luxury but not crap either!

As for price, I would think you could do better. The hotels should be at rock bottom prices in August with many deals on offer. It%26#39;s the flight prices that govern the total cost. See what the best flight prices you can get, then worry about hotel rooms.

The rooms are very nice at MGM. I don%26#39;t recommend the West Wing rooms, though. The above advice is good, I would book directly with the hotel so you can keep your eye on the prices, if they fall you can rebook at the lower price. You might also want to look at the prices of the suites as the time gets closer. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Rooms at the MGM (Grand Tower) are nice with spacious bathrooms and REALLY comfy beds!! The hotel/casino has a GREAT atmosphere, very good service and a wonderful pool complex that will definitely come in handy in the August heat!!

Location isn%26#39;t a huge deal especially if you%26#39;re a first timer because there is so much to do and see EVERYWHERE! Besides, it%26#39;s just an easy cab, Monorail ride or walk up the Strip!

Not sure if that price is a good deal because I%26#39;m not familiar with flight costs from the UK...sorry!

CONGRATULATIONS on your wedding...have a GREAT trip!!

Yes MGM is OK. As a matter of fact that is a good description. It is a mid-range hotel both in price and quality.

In LV hotels you pretty much get what you pay for. Some of the lower priced hotels (Sahara, Strat, Trop) are to be avoided. Some of the more expensive (Wynn, Palazzo, THEhotel, Bellagio) are WOW. And most in the mid-range are OK. But keep in mind this is OK by Las Vegas standards, which are pretty good.

I can%26#39;t help with price, as I don%26#39;t have to deal with international airfaes. But I would price MGM at $69 per night during the week and $159 Fri-Sat. (even though I would probably pay less in 2009).

I know this might sound a little crazy, but you might consider staying at 2 different hotels during your trip. Both to stretch your budget (weekends can be very expensive) or maybe just to spend a couple of days in luxury on your honeymoon.

I suggest you do a little research. Don%26#39;t pay too much attention to the hotel reviews, but read the posts on this forum. Pay attention to questions asked about specific hotels that interest you. And read any trip reports from those who stay at those hotels, to give you an idea pf their experiances. And don%26#39;t be afraid to ask specific questions.

Some of the rooms are a long trek from the casino. Request a location where you don%26#39;t have to walk so far. Our son and DIL loved the MGM.

I have stayed there twice and as someone said the beds are very comfortable and the rooms a good size if a bit dated. They are clean however and the bathroom is a good size.

I do not have an opinion about the deal you have because I do not know enough about airfares from the UK.

That said, I love the MGM! I like the location, being across the street from the new City Center instead of next door to it and also being close to the monorail. I love the MGM pools too. The MGM is one of my favorite hotels. I also enjoyed seeing KA there as well.

Seems like a good price for Virgin, we are going 1st week April, staying at MGM and paid 拢2100 for both of us for the same deal, We actually paid with Tesco Vouchers so did not actually cost us anything. Stayed at MGM two years ago but this trip we booked flights in the sale for about 拢320 each and booked with hotel separately, changed deals a couple of times when the prices dropped.

Compared to London hotels MGM is very Grand.. large rooms and the bed is from heaven.. we had a great time which is why we are going back, I would not worry about position on the strip you%26#39;ll want to check out all the hotels anyway...if you get tired of walking the monorail runs from the back of the hotel. Check out the MGM reviews paying attention to the UK posts, our expectations are different, I think we are much more easily pleased! Have a great time.

We were in Vegas on our honeymoon in September. We stayed at MGM in the West Wing, and were very impressed. The beds are amazing - like sleeping on a cloud...

The West Wing is the closest to the strip, in face a short ride down the elevator, throug the West Wing Bar, and you%26#39;re there.

We will be returning to Vegas the 25th of this month - we had so much fun the first time... great place to take a honeymoon. Congrats
