Bride's Mom - Have Questions???

OK - so my daughter wants to get married in Vegas. I want to start planning. How can I get some good room deal if I%26#39;m not in their player%26#39;s card comp rewards thingy? I%26#39;d like to book a block of rooms at TI, but I need to get the best deal possible. Do they ever do any comped stuff for NEW people, or only for the returning players?

No comps for new people and since Vegas is such a big convention town, even 20 rooms isn%26#39;t considered a lot for a block.

The rates now are so good you should be able to do very well. A lot depends on when you are going. If you avoid the weekend it will be much less and summer is less than most other times excpet the early part of December.

I would avoid March, April and any holiday weekends.

You can sign up for some players cards online to get some decent rates. MGM-Mirage for sure at www.playersclub.com.

Check this website, www.smartervegas.com, and www.fatwallet.com for hotel deals.

From Colorado, Southwest airlines has some good deals as well as www.usairwaysvacations.com.

If she%26#39;s getting married at TI I would ask the wedding coordinator if they offer a wedding rate for guests.

I am getting married in March at the Venetian. I have been there many times and have a host and get comped rooms...but they wouldn%26#39;t do a block of rooms for me even though I have fifty people coming. I asked my host, my wedding ceremony coordinator and my ceremony coordinator and none of them could pull strings for a block room rate - the best they could do was offer my parents the casino rate.

Long story short, most of my guests and staying all around town with promo codes that I%26#39;ve received from MGM properties.

Hopefully TI has different rules and will be willing to offer a block rate, but I just thought you should be aware that unfortunately doesn%26#39;t seem to be the norm in Vegas. I would call the wedding office there and see what they%26#39;re willing to do for wedding parties - perhaps they have different rules!

Congrats to your daughter! :)

Make that ceremony coordinator and reception coordinator. Not ceremony and ceremony.

Oh how I wish for an edit button!

I was married in Vegas last October, and since we took 28 people along (bridal party and family) we thought we could get a block rate. After dozens of phone calls, the result was NO.

I was told by the MGM properties that IF I was getting married at a hotel chapel, their coordinators MIGHT give us 10% off rack rate. No guarantees.

Check with fatwallet.com as recommended earlier in this thread. They%26#39;ve got all the deals listed for both card members and non-members. The only drawback is you generally can only get one room under the deal rate, and must pay in advance. A friend did this by sending an email with the deal link to her wedding party and they each got their own rooms.

As mentioned before, LV is a big convention town, and even with the recession, hotels don%26#39;t consider reserving blocks for less than 50 rooms.

When does your daughter want to get married? That will make a lot of difference in what room rates will be.

As mentioned with some research you can probably find some good rates. If you%26#39;ve got a little time, sign up for a player%26#39;s card online.

Where will you be flying out of?

Allegiant also offers great rates if flying out of the Ft.Collins/Loveland area or Colorado Springs - if Denver, SouthWest or even Frontier has specials.

Congratulations to both you and your daughter!

I also agree with calling the Wedding Coordinator.
