Stratosphere, Riviera or Gold Coast ?? Help me decide..

OK....I have some comp%26#39;d rooms at the IP and I need a room for a night that doesn%26#39;t cost allot as it%26#39;s a low cost trip and I don%26#39;t need the Encore etc.

I have stayed at various places....the Riv before they tore all the stuff down near it. South Point...Flamingo and downtown.

I need a room for a Friday night....5/8, my flight leaves at 9am the next day.

Currently booked at the Strat but can change that...any help or promo codes would be helpful!

Thanks!!

I would opt for Gold Coast. The Riviera neighborhood is just too depressing these days and very few people have good things to say about the hotel. Strat is just too far north and too isolated for me.

At GC you have Palms and Rio within walking distance and a shuttle service to and from the Strip. Not too much partying though, you%26#39;ve got an early start on the Saturday..... :-)

If you haven%26#39;t stayed at the Strat, keep your reservation there. I have stayed there and was pleased. Clean, fun, staff was nice. My room had a great view facing south down the strip. Most people dont like it because it is so far north. The tower is very cool if you haven%26#39;t been up.

You say you are currently booked here. Has something you read made you second guess?

What about seeing how much you could get IP for?? I looked it up and it doesn%26#39;t look bad and if you gamble enough you may be able to get them to comp it for you. You can try www.fatwallet.com/forums/travel-deals/704925/ people list all kinds of deals there.

I would pick the GC. The rooms have just been renovated and they have a reliable shuttle to the strip. The Rio is across one street (Valley View) and the Palms is across the other street (Flamingo). You can be at either hotel in under 5 minutes. They also have a shuttle to the Orleans.

It is not a swinging place but it is clean, safe and convenient with a friendly staff.

The Riviera and Strat are just too far north for me- away from everything.

I grabbed the Strat cause the rate was really good for a Friday and the room is a Premium Non-smoking. I have a rental so going places isn%26#39;t a big deal....I may try the best of all three....Get a comped 1-night at Gold Coast, then move to IP for two nights, then hit the Strat for the last night.

I really wanted to go to Polyesters at the Strat and found out after i made my reservation that the closed about a month or so ago....so the only other thing that would entice to me to stay would be the pools ;).... and no, I%26#39;m not a gawker, but love the fact I can be away from the kiddies.

alano,

have stayed at all three.

i.m.o. sratosphere has good parking and is easy in and out with car

Having stayed at all 3 also, with or without a car,there%26#39;s nothing wrong with the Strat...The buffet was better years ago but the rooms are clran and staff always helpful..

I would go with Gold Coast, very nice hotel, recently renovated, %26amp; usually pretty lucky there. They also have good eats that are very reasonable.

I personally like the Strat. My husband and I feel at home there and I like that it%26#39;s less busy than some of the mid-strip properties. Our rooms have always been clean and we%26#39;ve been treated well by the staff. I won a bit in the casino the last time I was there. The only negative is that I did get hit up for money by a crackhead in the bathroom, but I guess that can happen anywhere.
